L‘Garde Programs - Solar Sails
The solar sail is a possible alternative to conventional fuels for interplanetary flight. It will power the Team Encounter interstellar mission
(Humanity's First Starship) in 2005, and Team Encounter's Earthview Flight in 2004 (a precursor to the interstellar mission). It will also power NASA's
ISP Solar Sail which will probably be used to fly above the L1 Lagrange point to provide early warning for solar flares.
Showcased in 'April 2006 Popular Science', which starred in the movie 'Aramaggedon'
