Data Acquisition System

L'Garde's Miniature Data Acquisition System (mDAS) is a self contained unit that collects analog and digital data in space, conditions it, and transmits it digitally over its own microwave telemetry transmitter to a remote receiving system. Its basic configuration has 16 instrumentation data channels and 8 digitital event channels. A magnetometer senses the earth's field to determine the unit's roll rate, and transmits that information as well. DAS sends up to 3,500 samples per second. It weighs 10 ounces, including magnetometer and rechargeable batteries. DAS is flight proven. Our team is prepared to meet you special data acquisition requirements with the technology developed for DAS.

Specifications:
Analog Channels: 8 differential, 4 single-ended
Digital Channels: Eight 5 volt CMOS or switch closure
Signal Conditioning: One amplifier per channel. Gain (up to 1000) and bandwidth set at factory.
Magnetometer: Single channel, senses earth field to provide a sinusoidal signal with frequency equal to roll rate.
Frequency: S-band telemetry: Any single frequency within S-band (2.2 to 2.4 GHz). Output frequency and transmitter bit rate is factory set.
 Transmitter power: 200 mW
Format: Serial, BI-Ø, PCM/FM per IRIG-106. Frame size, frame organization and sampling rate up to 3,500 samples per second total throughput is factory set in software. Typical sampling rate is 220 samples per second.
Length: 4.77" overall, including batteries, excluding antenna.
 Diameter 1.90" overall.
 Weight: 0.62 pounds, including batteries.
Battery life: Maximum nominal 12-18 minutes between battery recharge.
Expandability: Lifetime may be increased using optional larger battery pack, at the expense of greater weight and longer length.
Options: CMOS RAM recorder, flash recorder, 24 analog channels, 16 digital channels, 2-axis magnetometer.
