Dr. Costas Cassapakis
Dr. Cassapakis is the President and CEO of L'Garde, Inc. He brings with him many years of experience in Technical and Business Management. Under his Leadership, L’Garde has become an unquestionable World Leader
in Inflatable and Rigidizable Space Structures with an enviable reputation both nationally and internationally. His formal Education has been in Experimental Particle and Nuclear Physics with emphasis on Sensors
and Sensor Development, Measurements and Spectroscopy of the full Spectrum of Electromagnetic (IR to Gamma rays) and Particle Radiation. During his career, he has been the Principal Investigator/Technical Lead
and Program Manager in a variety of Programs in the Radiation and Aerospace Fields.
Prior to joining L’Garde in 1987, Dr. Cassapakis was a Senior Scientist at SAIC/San Diego. He joined SAIC in 1976, and contributed to the development, fabrication and testing of state of art radiation sensors
for use in the detection of a host of materials and processes. Some of these detectors have evolved into present day products used in the detection of contraband and explosives.
Dr. Cassapakis obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of New Mexico at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in December of 1975. His thesis addressed Pion Production from a variety of targets in
High-Energy Proton and Neutron interactions at the Los Alamos Meson Physics Facility. He has authored numerous publications, papers and colloquia.
